January 21st - February 22nd
Three Kings Studios inaugurates its new exhibition space with a solo show by artist Daniel Albrigo.
In his latest body of work, Albrigo merges the iconic with the ambiguous by translating signage and graphics into his own bootleg interpretations. The artist maintains the integrity of the shapes while adding rich hues and textures. The result is a quirky narrative open to the viewer’s interpretation and defined by a cast of recurring characters and motifs. Albrigo appropriates classic imagery and investigates its paradigm shift through text, photo realism, and expressionism.
Born in Southern California in 1982, Daniel Albrigo lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Albrigo’s work has been included in exhibitions at the Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh; Muddguts, New York; Renwick Gallery, New York; and the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art, Denmark.
